Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the best community-created works from the previous week.
First, as many of you already know, the site was a bit quiet as many of the regularly scheduled programs not airing. That's because the Giant Bomb staff travelled to San Diego to attend the DreamHack convention. If you missed the livestreams that featured the Giant Bomb staff, don't worry, as most of them will be on the site shortly.
In the meantime, maybe consider the return of The Power Bombcast which discussed WrestleMania 39 or the The Super Mario Bros. Movie Spoilercast! In the future, be prepared for the live Voicemail Dump Truck and fun coverage of Universal's Super Nintendo World!
GB Chat and the Twitch channel will be up during DreamHack for segments that feature GB, GameSpot, and Fandom employees. Please keep things civil in both channels and be aware that your conduct will be observed and moderated if necessary.
Finally, I want to thank all of you for dropping kind and supportive comments in the last Spotlight when I announced it was both @marino and I's 13th anniversary as moderators on the site. It means a lot, and it was incredibly touching to see some usernames I have not seen in a while. With all of that in mind, let's jump into the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight.
YO! WHAT?! THE GIANT BOMB FORUMS GOT CITED IN SONY'S RESPONSE/REBUTTAL TO THE CMA'S VERDICT! AND THE THREAD'S TITLE HAS A TYPO!— GB Duders Feed (@GBDudersFeed) April 7, 2023

I am a Mario party champion, rip to @DanRyckert but there’s a new sheriff in town 🤠— bailey meyers is at dreamhack!! (@baileymeyers) April 7, 2023
Here, PhillJWoodward sketched a drawing of Tam based on his appearance during the Video Game BAFTAs, but added in a dash of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to the mix. Then, Fergi21 came in with the colors and I think we can agree the two did a smashing job with the work!
Over on Twitter, MOHAMMEDFI10 had a field day imagining Tamoor and Lucy as different video game, movie, and wrestling personalities, as you can see below. If you have any suggestions for the future, or have the time to thank them for their good work, click any of the links provided above.
And it wouldn't be the official end of a week without at least one piece of Mike x Grubb artwork or photoshop goodness. This week, CreakyLegs made two with the first adding Jurassic World Dominion to the mix and the second minding a creative way to use the Giant Bomb x Fandom convention this week.
The site is already dropping surprise content left and right and Adam Parker especially liked the makeshift video set-up in which Grubb, Jan, and Dan discuss their adventures at WrestleMania.
Many people had the game listed in their GOTY lists and write-ups, so don't forget to join the Community Game Pass Game Club's open discussion about Return to Monkey Island! Where do you stand regarding the game's look and art style?
Likewise, the nominees for the next edition of the Community Game Pass Game Club are up on the site! Take a gander at the games you can vote for and remember to VOTE FOR TWO! Just click the second link!
borgmaster has a new blog where they talk about every game to release on the Sega Saturn in North America, and it's time to tackle March 1996! Head on over to their blog learn about Congo: The Movie - The Lost City of Zinj, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Criticom, Magic Carpet, and MORE!

OG Resident Evil 4 is one of AtheistPreacher's all-time favorite games. As such, they review all of the changes that they like and dislike. Click the link to join the conversation if you have played or are playing the game as well!
Super Mario 64 is one of Mento's favorite games of all time. After covering the game at least twice on the site, they have decided to tackle every Retro Achievement for the game!
Additionally, Mento has a new edition of their "Indie Game of the Week" feature and this one gets spooky with Amnesia: Rebirth! Do they think it compares favorably or unfavorably to the previous titles in the franchise? Read to find out!
PurpleShyGuy gave Hi-Fi Rush an extended play sessions and penned a blog on the site articulating what they loved and hated about the game in form of a new "That’s Good, That’s Bad" blog! Give it a read and see if you agree with their points.
A single thread on the Giant Bomb forums has been cited in Sony's response to the UK's CMA siding with Microsoft over the potential MS-Activision merger. Maybe your response will be recorded in a future appeal!
With three months behind us, what are your GOTY frontrunners? Common community picks include Resident Evil 4, Hi-Fi Rush, Metroid Prime Remastered, and some smaller indie titles. Share your picks after clicking the link!
What does the community think of all the rumors surrounding Sony returning to the field of portable gaming? Does a revived PSP or Vita make sense alongside the Steam Deck and the growing proliferation of tablets?
What are your expectations for the Mario movie? What is your early reaction to the disconnect between the film's target audience and how movie critics are assessing it? Is this another example of critics not "getting" video game-related content or humor?
MultiVersus has been pulled from online storefronts! Do you think the game's future is looking good or are you worried 2024 paints a bleak picture? What do you think of WB calling the last several months a beta?
Are there any genres or styles of games you think the games industry could do without? Are there specific genres that you think inevitably lead to irresponsible game design and exploitative practices?
Here is a fun list that is taking YOUR SUGGESTIONS! watermaiden15 is working on a list of every single video game that features characters bathing or showering during cinematics and cutscenes. See what they have thus far over here!
@infantpipoc's The Hong Kong Massacre review is a definite recommendation if you have never heard of the game before! Read why they really enjoyed this John Woo-inspired game and how it runs with its Hotline Miami roots.
@blimpsgo180 decided to go back in time to when Vicarious Visions / Blizzard Albany made GBA Crash Bandicoot games by checking out Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced to see if it is as good as they remembered!
Wiki Of The Week
If there is one thing I am horribly disappointed by when it comes to the new Mario Bros. movie, it's the fact there has yet to be a single video game adaptation based on the film's interpretation of the Mario universe, Chris Pratt and all. If it had happened, it would have been a new entry in the "Games Based On Movies Based On Games" wiki concept page!
